Awards and Affiliations

 

2007
Richard Stimson Award of Excellence in Service awarded to Pat Higgins in honor of her service to the students of the University of Maryland by the Residence Hall Association. This prestigious award is presented infrequently and only for extraordinary service.

Emma Powers Student Employee of the Year Award: Sarah Kirkwood, Student Manager of the Maryland Golf Course Club House, was awarded the highest honor we can give a student employee. A $500 scholarship and an engraved plaque were presented at the May Awards Banquet. This award is presented to the student recognized as having made the most significant positive contributions to Dining Services and the campus community.

Emma Powers Student Employee of the Year Award: Phillip Vogel, Student Supervisor from Good Tidings was awarded the highest honor we can give a student employee. $500 Terrapin Express and an engraved plaque were presented at the May Awards Banquet. This award is presented to the student recognized as having made the most significant positive contributions to Dining Services and the campus community.

SERMA Citation for Excellence: Dining Services was cited for Excellence in Risk Management by SERMA (the State Employees Risk Management Association). Donna McMahon, Assistant Director Environmental Safety presents the award to Patricia Higgins, Dining Services Director.

2005
President's Distinguished Service Award: Jean Bennett, Assistant Director, honored at the University of Maryland Faculty and Staff Convocation with this significant award. She is active on 11 different committees, boards, or associations on campus and has received numerous awards for her service. Ms.Bennett was selected based on her work to create a memorable and student-friendly dining experience on campus.

NACUFS Lichtenfelt Award: Sister Maureen Schrimpe IHM, FMP was selected by the president of the National Association of College and University Food Service in recognition of her volunteer efforts on behalf of the association. The award was named in honor of Richard Lichtenfelt, NACUFS' first president.

Citation by the Office for Organizational Effectiveness: Given to Bart Hipple, Administrator of Convenience Shops in appreciation for his extraordinary contribution to the advancement and improvement of campus community as member of Peer Consulting Network
